When veterans return home from being deployed, navigating an ever-changing world can be incredibly difficult. From finding affordable housing for themselves and their families, to determining how to best apply their military skills to civilian jobs, to beginning a new career path, the challenges and barriers to establishing civilian life can be daunting.
That’s where Sheppard Pratt’s Veteran Services Center comes in. We develop individualized plans to help our veterans address several basic needs: housing, mental health, substance use, job training, and securing employment; we look at each veteran holistically, and determine exactly what they will need to thrive in the civilian world.
At our Veterans Services Center, we offer free assistance to veterans in three key areas:
-
Finding affordable housing
-
Job training for civilian careers
-
Securing employment
In addition, we provide referrals to The State of Maryland American Job Center, healthcare providers, mental healthcare providers, legal aid services, bonding services, and more.
Our main goal is to help return our veterans to a more independent living situation.
